This is part of a directive on ensuring a joyful, healthy, safe and economical Tet, issued by the capital city’s Chairman Chu Ngoc Anh.
He urged all relevant units and forces to stay vigilant and avoid being caught off guard so as to keep the coronavirus under control, especially before, during and after Tet.
The Hanoi leader advised residents to enhance community awareness and comply with COVID-19 prevention rules, including wearing masks and keeping safe distances.
People with advanced age and underlying conditions are recommended to avoid mass gatherings, if not necessary.
During February, the city will set up mobile vaccination centres to accelerate the vaccination campaign so that the third booster shots will be completed in the first quarter of 2022.
The city is also considering allowing students who have received two doses returning to school after the Lunar New Year break.
