Speaking at the opening ceremony on November 26, DOIT’s Acting Director Tran Thi Phuong Lan said the programme saw the participation of about 200 enterprises, shopping centres and production chains in the capital city.
The main activity takes place at nearly 10 supermarkets and commercial centres of major retailers such as Central Retail, Aeon, BRG Mart, Co.opmart, Lotte, Vinmart, Pico and e-commerce platforms Shopee and VNPT Shop Online.
The Hanoi Midnight Sale features over 3,000 items discounted by 30-100%, with the total promotional value of nearly 20 trillion VND (nearly 882 million USD).
The discounted rate increased from 30% during 5-7pm to 50% during 7-10pm, 60% during 10pm-0am and 60-100% during 0-2am.
Lan emphasised that shopping events like this are Hanoi’s substantive measures to boost demand, drive the circulation of goods and services while helping enterprises recover from the difficulties of COVID-19.
