According to the Hanoi Transport Construction Investment Project Management Board, the overpass has a total investment of nearly VND150 billion (US$6.6 million), sourced from the city’s budget.
The construction is expected to improve traffic capacity through the Chua Boc – Pham Ngoc Thach – Ton That Tung – Dong Tac intersection and deal with congestion in addition to helping supplement the framework traffic infrastructure of Hanoi.
The steel C-shaped overpass measures 300m in length and 9m in width with two lanes for both motorcycles and automobiles.
According to the Hanoi Transport Construction Investment Project Management Board, about 400m of the sidewalk on Chua Boc Street will be trimmed to serve in the building of the overpass.
A number of trees will also be relocated according to the permit from the Hanoi Department of Construction.
