VTV.vn - The Hanoi Union of Friendship Associations opened the International Friendship Art Festival at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and the walking streets around Hoan Kiem Lake on December 18.

The three-day event aims to enhance exchange activities and promote friendship and cooperation between Hanoi and international friends through the establishment of an open and creative cultural space for both Vietnamese and foreign amateur and professional artists to perform.

This is also an opportunity for Hanoi to boost its image and promote the land and people of Vietnam as well as the achievements of Hanoi and the nation in the renewal process.

The festival has gathered more than 300 Vietnamese and foreign professional and amateur artists, embassies, international organisations, teachers and students of international schools and bilingual schools in Hanoi.

Various activities have been held during the festival including piano performances, dancing, international cultural experience activities, exhibitions of creative cultural and artistic products, traditional games, ao dai (traditional long dress) catwalks, a showcase of Hanoi cultural and cuisine products, among others.

The best performances will be selected to join the International Art Friendship Gala on December 27 at the Hanoi Art College.
