The ceremony was attended by Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi Municipal Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue along with members of the Party Central Committee: Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Thuan Huu, who is also Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association; Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education Nguyen Hong Dien; and Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Permanent Deputy Secretary Ngo Thi Thanh Hang said that this is the third year Hanoi has organised these two press awards.
The press awards are also an opportunity for the city to recognise and honour the reporters, journalists and press agencies who have contributed to the communication ofactivities on Party building and the cultural development of the capital.
The works have correctly reflected the current problems of Hanoi in Party building and political system; cultural development, especially topical issues such as organising the party congress at all levels and the upcoming 17th Party Congress of Hanoi; and COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control and the implementation of the dual task of fighting COVID-19 and boosting socio-economic development in the capital.
In order to continue promoting the important role of the press, improving the quality of information and communication on building the Party and the political system, developing culture and building a civilised and elegant Hanoi, Permanent Deputy Secretary Ngo Thi Thanh Hang officially launched the Press Awards on building the Party and the political system in Hanoi, and developing culture, building a civilised and elegant Hanoi in 2021.
At the same time, she called the press agencies and journalists,with their feelings and responsibilities to the Party, the capital and the country, to actively participate in responding to the two press awards of Hanoi City.
For the Hanoi’s Press Award on Party Building and Political System 2020, the organising committee has received a total of 140 entries from 30 central press agencies and Hanoi.
Out of the 65 entries in the final round, the organising committee selected 33 excellent works to present with awards, including three A prizes; five prize B; ten C prizes and 15 consolation prizes.
For the Press Award on Cultural Development and on Cultural Development and Building Elegant and Civilised Hanoians, the organising committee has received a total of 271 entries from 33 central press agencies and Hanoi.
From the 61 entries in the final round, the organising committee selected 33 works to present award, including three A prizes; five B prizes; ten C prizes and 15 consolation prizes.
