VTV.vn - The Hanoi Red Cross Society has held a conference to evaluate the results of the first six months of 2023 and honoured 161 outstanding individuals in voluntary blood donation , in response to World Blood Donor Day (June 14).

In the first half of 2023, the Hanoi Red Cross Society at all levels, provided multi-faceted assistance to hundreds of thousands of people in need.

Activities to support people's health care reached a value of more than 6.7 billion VND and disaster relief, prevention and response work was worth more than 1.1 billion VND.

The voluntary blood donation movement continued to be widely deployed by the Hanoi Red Cross Society, agencies and mass organisations, thereby receiving more than 124,000 blood units, basically reaching set targets.

The major contributing force was the Hanoi Blood Donation Campaign Youth Association, which mobilised nearly 30,000 blood units; nearly 22,000 blood units weremobilised in districts and towns; and over 20,000 units from universities and colleges.
