Hanoi, HCMC close non-essential businesses to prevent COVID-19 spread

VTV.vn - Authorities in Hanoi and HCMC have requested to suspend all non-essential business and recreational activities with mass gathering in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Specifically, Hanoi will halt celebratory events and non-essential business in line with the Prime Minister's decision on Thursday to prevent the spread of the SARS-CoV2-virus from tourists who recently came back from Da Nang city.

Hanoi's Centes for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Health and hospitals are also mobilizing forces to conduct quick testing for those 21,000 tourists, with an expected completion date of August 3. HCMC will also apply the same measures to pevent the spread of the disease.

Citizens will also have to wear masks in public space and gatherings of more than 30 people are prohibited.
