Hanoi begins injecting Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 15-17

VTV.vn - Hanoi began administering Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to children aged 15-17 on the morning of November 23, according to the Hanoi Department of Health.

The Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology granted about 304,140 doses of Pfizer vaccine to Hanoi for allocation to 30 districts across the city.

The vaccine will be used to give the first and second injection to children with the interval between the two shots being at least three weeks.

The vaccination of the first dose is scheduled for completion on November 25.

The injection is conducted at schools for children who are attending in person, while children who are studying online at home will be vaccinated at local health stations.

Children with congenital and chronic diseases related to heart, lungs, digestive system, urinary system, blood, and others will be vaccinated at hospitals.

Hanoi is expected to administer vaccines to all children aged 12-17 in the fourth quarter of 2021 and the first quarter of 2022. As many as 791,921 children will be vaccinated, including 519,547 children aged 12-16 and 272,374 children aged 16 to under 18 years old.
