This is what the General Statistics Office (GSO) said at a press conference in Hanoi on Friday.
The agro-forestry-fishery sector went up by 3.93 percent contributing 9.7 percent of the GDP growth.
The industrial and construction sector and the service industry contributed 48.9 percent and 41.4 percent, respectively, of the GDP growth.
The processing and manufacturing sectors led the way with an increase of 13.02 percent, the highest in the last seven years.
Vietnam's GDP in the first half of this year was fueled by the robust expansion of the industrial and construction sector and the service sector. Vietnam's consumer price index (CPI) in June increased by 0.61% over May, the highest pace over the past six years. The General Statistics Office still thinks that the target of 6.7% growth for the whole year is entirely feasible.
