VTV.vn - Vietnam's Central Highlands is currently experiencing dry season.

In Gia Lai province, the humidity in the forest has decreased sharply causing the risk of forest fires to increase to a dangerous level 5. A wild fire occurred in Ia Grai district. Although local forces attempted to extinguish the fire, it spread to more than 30 hectares of 3-year pine forest due to dry weather. In Gia Lai province, nearly 400 thousand hectares of forests are at high risk of fire, accounting for over 60% of the total forest area in the province. It is forecasted that dry weather will prolong so Gia Lai Provincial Forest Protection Department has asked localities and forest owners to implement fire prevention measures and come up with plans to minimize any damage caused by forest fires.
