Within the meeting, General Phan Van Giang noted that 2022 is a year in which to perform many important tasks, thus the General Department of Engineering needs to stick to the main tasks of the army; study and review the performance of tasks identified by the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of Defence in order to properly orientate the tasks required by the Engineering sector.
The Defence Minister also urged the General Department to uphold its role as a leading unit in the field of digital technology as well as a consultancy unit for the Ministry of Defence in the field of military engineering, scientific research and application.
The GDE was also asked to boost its staff training and encourage creativity in work in order to raise the technical and tactical capacity of weapons; as well as prepare well to ensure that weapons are equipped for training, combat readiness, and rescue missions.
