The Gala Kind Deeds, an annual special program aired during the Lunar New Year, has always been a highlight of the show. This year's program is titled "Love You So Much, Vietnam". It allows loyal viewers to reflect on the show's meaningful contributions throughout the year and reunite with the inspiring individuals featured in past episodes.
With numerous events in 2024, Gala Kind Deeds Tet 2025 presents a compelling and dynamic narrative—recounting the country's hardships and challenges after a turbulent year of natural disasters and fires. Most importantly, the spirit of solidarity, kindness, and unwavering faith has served as a guiding light, helping people overcome adversity and come together to build a brighter future.
A particularly emotional moment unfolded in Hanoi, right on the Gala Kind Deeds 2025 stage, when "Grandfather" Nguyen Xuan Khang was reunited with 22 children from Lang Nu village. Their overwhelming joy and happiness filled the air as they hugged each other. At this special moment, Mr. Khang could not hold back his emotions and tearfully said, "Just a short time ago we were still in Lang Nu, and now you are here in Hanoi beside me. I never expected to see you again so soon".
The reunion between "Grandfather" Nguyen Xuan Khang and the 22 children from Lang Nu was immortalized in a commemorative photograph taken on the gala stage.
Talking about the reason for choosing "Love You So Much, Vietnam" as the theme of this year's gala, the representative of the organizing team said: "We chose this year's theme in a very special way—a phrase that can come from the heart of every Vietnamese person. 'Vietnam oi'—a a proud call yet so familiar and intimate. Vietnam is our homeland, our home, the laughter of children, the lullabies of mothers, the affectionate gaze of fathers, and the heartfelt sounds of life that we have grown to love without even realizing it".
"Beyond that, Vietnam is nation with a thousand years of glorious history, a nation bound by solidarity and mutual support, as reflected in the ancient proverb: 'A torn leaf should cover the tattered one; those in the same country should love one another'. The year 2024 flew by in the blink of an eye, yet no one can forget the historic storms that swept away countless homes, the devastating fires, or the bitter cold of winter. But in the midst of these hardships, humanity shone like tiny flames—one light, then another, then millions—coming together to illuminate the path forward".
"This program is for all of us, those who deeply love our homeland, Vietnam".
Another powerful reunion took place on stage between Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Minh Tuan (Traffic Police Department, Ministry of Public Security) and a mother, Ms. Sim, along with her child, baby Nghe. On December 23, 2024, baby Nghe suffered severe abdominal pain and lost consciousness. While on duty, Lieutenant Colonel Tuan immediately used a police escort vehicle to rush the child and his family to the National Children's Hospital. His swift and heroic actions ensured that baby Nghe received timely treatment and made a safe recovery.
This touching reunion deeply moved the entire audience. When asked about his decision to take action, Lieutenant Colonel Tuan humbly responded: "At that moment, no one could have predicted what I would do. I was there, so I acted. And even if it hadn't been me, any officer in that situation would have done the same".
"Love You So Much, Vietnam" is not only a tribute to courageous and kind-hearted individuals but also a message of national pride. It encourages every Vietnamese person to continue sharing, supporting, and loving one another because "We are all Vietnamese".
