VTV.vn - President of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front (VFF) Tran Thanh Man has sent his best wishes in a letter to the Khmer people and Buddhist monks on the occasion of Chol Chnam Thmay, the Khmer’s New Year festival.

In his message, the VFF leader affirmed that the Khmer people are an inseparable part of Vietnam and that the Party and State will always give multi-faceted attention to them.

Man said the VFF highly appreciates the Khmer people’s active participation in VFF-led patriotic movements and their unity with other groups in national construction, improving living standards and strengthening national solidarity.

He particularly praised the role of Theravada Buddhist leaders and exemplary Khmer people in encouraging their community to join the VFF’s activities.

As Chol Chnam Thmay takes place amidst the global coronavirus pandemic, the VFF leader expects the Khmer people to celebrate the festival in accordance with government rules on epidemic prevention to preserve an environment of safety, well-being and happiness for everyone.
