The meeting of government officials was headed by French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe, with the participation of activists, associations, magistrates, lawyers, representatives of security officers and victims. The Prime Minister unveiled a package of measures, including nearly 5.48 million-U.S.-dollar fund to provide 1,000 additional shelters to female victims of violence from January 2020. A geolocation platform will also be launched by the end of November to help identify quickly and efficiently the emergency places of accommodation for women in need. The government also pledged to accelerate judicial procedures against perpetrators of domestic violence, introduce electronic bracelets for violent husbands and withdraw their parental authority.
