Four universities are Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Da Nang University of Technology, and the National University of Civil Engineering.
The evaluation by HCERES, the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education, may become a basis for NUCE to set up a roadmap to becoming Vietnam's leading engineering university, in order to compete with renowned universities in the region by 2030.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hoa, Rector, National University of Civil Engineering said: We really hope that the criteria of the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education will help us better identify our strengths and weaknesses, as well as opportunities and challenges, so we can more effectively implement our development strategy.
The Vietnamese-French Training Program of excellent Engineers (PFIEV) is part of the cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Training and HCERES to improve the quality of university education.
Prof. Vavier Michel, Head of delegation, High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCERES) said: I think quality evaluation is popular among international universities. These universities request independent administrative authorities like us to evaluate their operations in terms of training, research activities and contributions to society. It helps universities set out strategies to meet the demand of the labour market, and these universities will, in turn, prove the quality of their education and attract more students.
HCERES worked with National University of Civil Engineering on February 27th and 28th, and will work with Hanoi University of Science and Technology from March 1st to the 3rd. The results of the evaluation of the 3 universities will be announced in July this year.
