The event was jointly held by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the National Agriculture Extension Centre, and the Thai Binh Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
At the forum, the delegates focused on discussing issues related to large-scale agricultural production in Thai Binh; new directions in the draft amended Land Law; and land policy solutions to promote concentrated accumulation in large-scale agricultural production.
According to the Thai Binh Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the large-scale agricultural production model will help farmers mechanise, apply science and technology to production, and promote linkages. The profits are expected to be 1.5 times higher than with traditional rice cultivation.
After 6 years of land accumulation, the province currently has 1,701 households accumulating from 2 hectares or more with an area of 5,676 hectares. Most of the households are in the districts of Quynh Phu, Dong Hung, and Kien Xuong.
Many opinions at the forum shared that in order to develop large-scale agricultural production, it is necessary to develop synchronous technical infrastructure and promote the centralisation of land for large-scale fields, as well as to organise agricultural production in accordance with mechanised machinery and equipment.
Furthermore, it is also necessary to promote the transfer of agricultural production machinery as well as cooperation and association in the production, processing and consumption of agricultural products.
