VTV.vn - Travel between Japan and Vietnam will partially resume this week, Japan's Kyodo News quoted Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi as saying on June 23.

Speaking at a press conference, Motegi announced that three chartered flights carrying about 440 business people are scheduled from June 25 to 27, with Vietnam agreeing to accept travellers on the condition that they agree to enhanced COVID-19 preventive measures.

This is considered the first step by Japan in easing the travel restrictions applied to prevent the spread of the pandemic.

Last week, both countries had agreed to ease travel restrictions "partially and gradually" in the near future.
