The delivery of the gifts was among the sideline activities of the 40th Nhan Dan Newspaper National Table Tennis Championship, which is taking place in Pleiku city.
The five recipients included the Gia Lai Provincial Centre for Social Protection, the provincial boarding school for ethnic students, the Table Tennis Club for the Elderly in the Hoi Thuong Ward of Pleiku City, the Provincial Border Guard High Command, and the provincial Military Command.
Speaking at the hand-over ceremony, Member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, Deputy Head of the PCC Commission for Communication and Education, and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association Le Quoc Minh expressed his hope that the gifts will help to increase the love for sports and improve the physical health of table-tennis lovers throughout Gia Lai province.
On the occasion, he announced to present 50 million VND to the Gia Lai Provincial Centre for Social Protection to support disadvantaged people, particularly children and elders.
