Five more COVID-19 patients recover, total 355

VTV.vn - Five more COVID-19 patients, including a six-year-old child, have been given the all-clear at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi on June 29, bringing the total recoveries in Vietnam to 355.

According to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, they are Patients 344, 346, 348, 351, and 352, and all are now in a stable condition with multiple negative tests for SARS-CoV-2.

All recovered patients are then placed in quarantine for 14 days.

As of June 29, the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases has provided treatment for 182 COVID-19 patients, including 18 foreigners. To date, 176 among them have been given the all-clear, making only six remaining in treatment at the hospital.

So far, 335 (over 94%) out of 355 confirmed cases in Vietnam have recovered and there have been zero fatalities.

There remains 20 patients under treatment at medical facilities across the nation.

Since April 16, Vietnam has gone 74 days without any new cases recorded in the community. As of 2 pm on June 29, the total number of confirmed cases stood at 355, with 215 being imported cases isolated immediately upon entry.

Currently, all 50 COVID-19 patients of foreign nationalities have recovered in Vietnam. The most severe case, who is free from coronavirus but still undergoing extensive treatment, is a British pilot, known as Patient 91. So far, he has undergone 103 days of treatment with a miraculous recovery and is still undergoing rehabilitation at Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.

In response to the patient's wish to return to his home country, the 44-year-old man is expected to return to the UK on a Vietnam Airlines flight on July 12.
