First private international airport to go operational next month

By now, the airport's last items are being completed. Test operations of different parts of the airport will be conducted before the official opening in December.

Van Don International is the first airport built under the form of Build-Operate-Transfer in Vietnam.  It has 31 check-in counters and seven parking stands for Boeing 787 and Airbus 350 jets.

It is estimated to welcome around 500,000 passengers in the first year of operation. There are claims it could welcome 5 million people by 2030.
