First lung transplant due to vaping damage

The patient was a 17-year-old boy whose lungs had been seriously damaged due to vaping.

Doctors said if the lung transplant had not been carried out, the patient's life would have been at risk. The patient is doing well at the hospital after surgery, however, the recovery is expected to take several months. So far, there have been 39 deaths and over 2,000 patients with diseases related to vaping, according to the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
