The goal is for the Moon Village to become "the first permanent human settlement on the lunar surface". A proposal has been unveiled, comprising of inflatable, pressurised pods that would house a complex of workspaces, residences, environmental control and life support systems. The complex will be located near the south pole of the Moon, so that to receive sufficient sunlight year round, and is close to the source of snow ice.
