The race will take place from September 9 to 11, gathering more than 5,300 runners from 48 countries and territories worldwide.
The runners will join various ranges of distances – including 10km, 15km, 21km, 42km, 70km, 100km, and 100 Miles (approximately 160km).
The first-ever 100-mile category will be attended by Jean Henri Haniquaut, a French ultra-runner who has joined six 100-mile races at events around the world, as well as experienced Vietnamese runners, namely Nguyen Tien Hung and Quang Tran, who were the champions of the 100km race in previous VMM editions.
Notably, the VMM 2022 will see the participation of celebrities, including singer Duc Tuan and Miss Vietnam 2006 Mai Phuong Thuy, who were two Operation Smile Ambassadors.
The competitors will have an opportunity to run between villages, through rice terraces, across bamboo bridges and past water buffalo, accompanied by cheering ethnic minority people.
Hosted by Topas Travel Company, the race has a strong charitable focus with nearly 350,000 USD having been raised to date.
