In the context that Vietnam's sugar industry is facing many difficulties, co-operation between a food manufacturer and a sugar company in Khánh Hòa Province is raising new hopes for the beleaguered sector.
Currently, sugar prices in Vietnam are 30 to 40% higher than in other countries. Things will worsen further as sugar import taxes will decline from 30% to 0% following the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement. In order to solve those problems, effective and cost-saving production models are vital for domestic sugar businesses.
