Exports of the country's main agricultural products rose by nearly 15% to around 16 billion USD. Nearly 12 billion USD worth of Vietnam's main forestry products and more than 6 billion USD worth of its main fishery products were exported, up 32% and 2.4% respectively.
Currently, Vietnam officially exports nine types of fresh fruits to the Chinese market alone. In the last three months, the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development will continue to help farmers, cooperatives, and enterprises overcome the new technical demands of this important market.
The ministry will also boost access to other markets such as Peru, Australia, Brazil, the U.S., and Russia. The U.S. recently decided to not take any trade action on Vietnamese timber following an investigation into harvesting and trade activities, which will open up opportunities to speed up exports to this market.
