Summer is a time for travel and family gatherings, and meaningful stories about health, children, family connections, and memorable experiences. In line with the theme A Vibrant Summer, A Caring Summer, the Department of Science and Education Programs at Vietnam Television (VTV) is launching a new multi-platform content campaign titled “VTV2 Welcomes Summer”.
The campaign addresses common questions that many Vietnamese families have during the summer: How should children spend their school break? How can parents balance work and childcare? How can children have fun while staying safe? And how can families spend more time together instead of being separated by screens?
The campaign’s warm and energetic spirit is rooted in important conversations about strengthening family bonds and building meaningful connections.
“One highlight is the summer edition of Healthy Living, titled Leave the Screen, Feel the Love. The program goes beyond physical health to explore children's mental well-being and family relationships. It will feature relatable stories and advice from psychologists”, said editor Tran Quang Huy. “Our goal is to help children spend less time on electronic devices and provide parents with practical ways to support and connect with their children, ensuring a truly meaningful summer”.

Another special feature comes from the program Live Deeply, Live Fully, which will air an episode titled “The Pressure of Being Compared”. Reporter Pham Xuan Hung explained that studies by educational psychologists show that many students experience stress due to constant comparisons with so-called “other people's children”. “According to UNICEF surveys, around 20% of children face mental health challenges linked to family and academic pressure”, Reporter Pham Xuan Hung said. “The goal of the program is not to determine who is right or wrong, but to encourage parents and children to understand one another better”.
Meanwhile, the program Family Stories Today will take a gentler approach this summer. “Our show often discusses family conflicts and emotional struggles”, said journalist Thuy Chi. “But this summer, we want to focus on simple, positive stories from everyday family life”.
VTV2 will offer a variety of informative programs for young people searching for direction and inspiration for the future, from nature exploration and technology to life skills and career guidance in the age of artificial intelligence.
One of the campaign's most notable innovations is audience participation. Through the A Vibrant Summer, A Caring Summer with VTV2 short video contest, viewers will be invited to share and preserve meaningful everyday moments from their own lives. It has also catalyzed creativity and renewed energy across VTV2's production teams and presenters. Many people used to see VTV2 purely as a science and education channel.
Today, however, the channel is becoming a modern, youthful, and dynamic platform tailored to younger demographics. As presenters, we also want to be closer and more relatable to ou viewers, especially children and teenagers. The team hopes that A Vibrant Summer, A Caring Summer will help families create meaningful memories and enjoy valuable moments together throughout the season,” said Thuy Chi.
Please stay tuned for the VTV2 Welcomes Summer campaign programs on VTV2 throughout June and July.
