VTV.vn - Vietnam has set a target to equitise 45 state-owned enterprises in 2017. But only six firms have completed the equitisation process in the first half of this year.

This is one of the main issues raised at a review meeting of the Steering Committee of Enterprises Innovation and Development for the first half of 2017.

Divestment of state investment in enterprises has been slow, especially in Ho Chi Minh City. Of the 39 listed firms to be equitised until 2020, so far none of have finished the process. Divestment at 22 SOEs has earned 12 trillion VND for the state.

At the event, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue asked related agencies to complete the equitisation and divestment plan in 2017, to meet or even exceed the government's targets.
