Nguyen Van Binh, chairman of Central Committee’s Commission for Economic Affairs, attended the event.
Speaking at the event, he asserted that the party and the state always paid special attention and appreciated the great role and potential of women in contributing to the socio-economic development.
Vietnamese women account for nearly 50% of the work force, managing household finance more than 60% among over 4 million households in rural areas and running 28% of businesses.
Chairman Nguyen Van Binh suggested that in the context of the fourth industrial revolution, it was necessary to fully grasp the party and government’s views of women’s involvement in start-ups as well as raising awareness among women about entrepreneurship; and mainstreaming activities to support women start-ups through related schemes and programmes.
