Under the 2014 Social Insurance Law, effective since 2016, employees are allowed to manage their social insurance book during the period paying social insurance premiums, to monitor payments and ensure their entitlement to social insurance.
Currently, the hand-over of social insurance books to the employees has been implemented in many firms and localities.
Currently, the social insurance department has completed reviewing the social insurance's participation from 2008 to present. It is expected that by the end of 2018, more than 13 million social insurance books will be handed over to employees.
