The application of information technology in the inspection of goods in Hai Phong port has made the electronic customs clearance system a closed process. This model will be applied nationwide in the near future.
The General Department of Vietnam Customs expects to expand this model to ports around the country by the second quarter of 2018. Especially the ports in Ho Chi Minh City, as they account for over 60% of the total volume of imports and exports of the country, and often experience congestion.
