He noted that this is a key project, with investment of 4.6 billion USD, so any delay, even one day, would cause significant losses.
Thanh asked Dong Nai Province, where the airport is located, to transfer 1,810 hectares of cleared land by the end of December, while the remaining 700 hectares must be completed by January 2022.
He said all 2,500 hectares for the first phase of Long Thanh Airport must be transferred to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), which is in charge of the project, in June.
Speaking at the meeting, Dong Nai leaders pledged to transfer the land to the ACV in the first quarter of 2022 while the ACV stated that it will start work as soon as the cleared land is transferred to the company.
Concluding the meeting, Deputy PM Le Van Thanh shared on the difficulties of the parties concerned, especially Dong Nai Province, due to the impact of COVID-19.
He noted that some positive changes have been made but the progress remains behind schedule, therefore all units must exert bold efforts to achieve the intended results.
