The two leaders agreed that both sides would make more efforts to speed up final procedures needed for the signing and ratification of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement.
The deputy prime minister stressed that results of negotiations of the FTA were atttibuted to efforts of the both sides. Vice Chairman of European Commission Jyrki Katainen spoke highly of Vietnam's determination and said the FTA played an important part in the EU's trade policies.
During the visit, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue also met with EU Chief Negotiator of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement Mauro Petriccione, the Secretary General of the World Customs Organisation Kunio Mikuriya.
Earlier, he had a working session with Rent-A-Port company in Belgium and visited its wind and solar power projects.
