Currently, among the 11 Vietnamese fruits officially exported to the Chinese market, only 3 have signed the Protocol on phytosanitary requirements, namely: mangosteen, passion fruit, and durian.
The remaining 8 fruits are banana, mango, lychee, longan, watermelon, dragon fruit, jackfruit and rambutan. The Plant Protection Department said that it is urgently coordinating with the General Administration of Customs of China to negotiate, exchange techniques and develop protocols for these eight fruits. The signing of the Protocol is expected to bring many very positive results in the long run and help stabilize output.
