Earthquake causes tremors in Quang Ngai.

VTV.vn - On the evening of March 21st, a 3.6 magnitude earthquake struck Mang But commune (Quang Ngai province), causing tremors in several areas.

On the evening of March 21, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh, Director of the Institute of Earth Sciences, announced that an earthquake had occurred in the Mang But commune area.

Accordingly, at 6:21 PM on March 21st, a 3.6 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Mang But commune area, with a focal depth of approximately 8km.

Residents in some communes and wards of Quang Ngai province felt the shaking for 3-5 seconds.

The Institute of Earth Sciences assessed the earthquake as not posing a natural disaster risk (level 0).

The Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center - Institute of Earth Sciences is currently continuing to monitor these earthquakes.

Earlier today, at 12:16 PM, a 2.7 magnitude earthquake also occurred in Mang But commune. This earthquake did not cause any natural disaster risks.

In Vietnam, earthquakes with a magnitude of 3-3.9 are considered weak earthquakes.

When strong earthquakes of magnitude 3-3.9 occur, some people feel them, but damage is rare. Objects in the house may be noticed shaking.
