Drug-resistant malaria spreads in Southeast Asia
VTV.vn - Drug-resistant forms of malaria-causing parasites are spreading across Southeast Asia warn British and Thai scientists, including Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam.

In some areas, up to 80% of malaria-causing parasites are drug-resistant, because most patients in these countries are not treated with the right medicine and procedures. More research on new malaria medicine needs to be done. Malaria is a worldwide disease targeted for elimination.

Every year, there are up to 200 million malaria patients, of which over 400,000 patients died and most of them were under five.
