VTV.vn - Low water levels in reservoirs and barren farmland have spread to most of the provinces in central Vietnam this month.

The high risk of drought and water scarcity are forcast to last until the end of July. In Nghệ An province, drought has been affecting most of the summer-autumn rice area. Anti-drought solutions have been implemented to save the paddy fields.

Meanwhile, the prolonged shortage of rainfall is expected to cause local reservoirs to remain at low levels. The water shortage may affect nearly 24,000 hectares of summer-autumn paddy fields.
