In 1971, H63 was the only spy team to be awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces in the midst of the war against America. Spycraft is extremely dangerous, and 27 comrades lost their lives to achieve this feat and to protect the safety of the Hero of the Armed Forces, Major General Pham Xuan An. This number shows the great loss we have suffered.
For nearly 15 years, about 500 pieces of intel gathered by the legendary spy Pham Xuan An were sent to the headquarters through the liaison lines, containing extremely valuable information that changed the course of the war and contributed to the victory of our nation's glorious, long-term resistance. The story of the H63 spy team is told in the documentary "Heroic H63".
Commenting on the film, Le Thi Thanh Binh, editor of VTV's Documentary Film Center, said the production team selected several historical events and specifics from the operations of the H63 secret group to incorporate into the film. The members of the production team had to dig deeper because there aren't many historical witnesses of the secret group left.
"The film will show not only the silent sacrifices, bravery and loyalty of the H63 intelligence group, but also the patriotism of generations of fathers and grandfathers in the nation's long resistance war," said editor Le Thi Thanh Binh about the message of the documentary "Heroic H63".
Two episodes of the documentary "Heroic H63" will be broadcast on VTV1 on November 8 at 20:10 and on November 9 at 21:30. Stay tuned!
