VTV.vn - Digital transformation has become an inevitable trend for the tourism industry in the context of the fourth industrial revolution, especially after the effects of the COVID-19 epidemic.

Deputy Director General of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) Nguyen Le Phuc made this affirmation at a forum in Hanoi on May 18 themed the “green line” to develop tourism, as organised by the Vietnam Business Forum Magazine.

At the forum, many local representatives and tourism businesses offered suggestions and solutions to accelerate the digital transformation of Vietnam's tourism.

In the coming time, in order to promote digital transformation in the tourism industry, the VNAT Deputy Director General said that it is necessary to focus on key groups of tasks and solutions, including: Continuing to complete projects, digital transformation programme in the tourism industry; Amending and supplementing the Tourism Law, plans and strategies for tourism development in accordance with the requirements and tasks of digital transformation; Focusing on the development of some basic digital platforms of the tourism industry; and Strengthening close cooperation between units in the tourism industry and the information technology industry.

In addition, it is necessary to promote the public-private partnership mechanism to mobilise resources to implement tourism digital transformation, such as strengthening the training and fostering of human resources in the tourism industry to improve knowledge, skills and understanding of technology, transformation number; accompanying the movement of creative startups and applying technology in the field of tourism, through organising competitions, thus creating a playground for young businesses to contribute new ideas for tourism development.
