According to information from the Organizing Committee, with 734 entries from 100 participating units, the National Television Festival (NTF) continues to confirm its strong appeal. The highlight of the Festival is the judging and awards ceremony for 11 categories, including: Children’s Programs (26 entries), Documentaries (97), Reports (140), Short Reports (148), Science-Education Programs (46), Talk Shows – Forums (46), Ethnic Minority Language Programs (52), Music and Dance Performances (57), Stage Performances (20), TV Dramas (34), and Digital Platform Videos (66). All entries reflect serious, well-prepared, and meticulous creativity, not only in terms of content and themes, but also in every detail of execution.
As one of the participating units, Ms. Luu Thi Thanh Ha – Deputy Director of the Hai Phong Press and Media Center – remarked that the changes in category structure and duration of works at the 42nd NTF reflect the ongoing development of the television industry, while also allowing units to showcase diverse creative perspectives. The division of Digital Platform Video into three subcategories shows the Organizing Committee’s deeper understanding of digital content characteristics, as each type has its own audience approach and evaluation criteria. "The changes at this year’s NTF show the Organizing Committee’s flexibility, in line with the current media and digital communication landscape. We highly appreciate this innovation and see it as an opportunity for broadcasters to play to their strengths, urther improve content quality, and adapt to evolving audience engagement trends", Ms. Ha noted.
Among the 100 units participating in this year’s NTF, the Hai Phong Press and Media Center is submitting 7 works across various categories. The entries reflect current affairs, cultural, and social issues in the city. Additionally, the center is also submitting an entry in the digital political commentary category, affirming its adaptability to multi-platform media trends. Ms. Ha shared: “We spent nearly a year preparing – from research and s topics selection to production of the works. Every piece is a lovingly crafted work by the production team, reflecting sharp journalistic perspectives and innovative storytelling. We hope the entries will leave a mark and help assert Hai Phong Center for Press and Communication within the national television system”.

As one of the reporters at the Hai Phong Center for Press and Communication, journalist Hai Ha has a short reportage selected by the unit to compete at the 42nd National Television Festival. She shared that short reportage is a very challenging genre in television, as it has limited duration but requires concise content, emotional depth, and far-reaching impact. Her work tells the story of a passionate journey to preserve a traditional art form for future generations. It is not just a reportage, but a narrative about the value of heritage and the people who work tirelessly every day to preserve the soul of traditional arts.
“The biggest challenge with the short report format is how to convey the character’s wealth of data and compelling stories in a short time frame. How can we distill the content effectively and still communicate the spirit and emotion of the character? Balancing information, emotion, and visuals was my biggest concern during production”, Hai Ha said.

The journalist said that while everyone has their expectations competing, awards are not the only goal. “I believe that every work holds its own value. Beyond winning an award, I hope my piece can touch viewers’ hearts. Regardless of the outcome, I believe if a story can move and inspire the audience and inspire, it’s already a success”, she said. “This is my first time having a work submitted to the National Television Festival, so I can’t help but feel a bit nervous. But more than that, I’m excited to share this story with more viewers. Being part of this major event for TV professionals is a valuable experience, and I hope to learn a lot from my peers across the country”.
