Deputy Prime Minister’s activities on the sideline of WEF in Malaysia

VTV.vn - Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung led a Vietnamese delegation to Malaysia to attend the 25th World Economic Forum WEF on ASEAN on Wednesday and Thursday.

On the sideline of the forum, the Deputy Prime Minister also met with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, the Vietnamese ambassador to Malaysia and leaders of WEF and ADB.

At the meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung highly appreciated the strategic partnership between the two countries. They hailed the successful coordination in implementing the Vietnam-Malaysia action program for the 2016-2018 period in promoting trade, investment and labor exchange...

Also on this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister received the World Economic Forum’s managing director Philip Rosler. The two sides agreed to strengthen coordination in realizing WEF’s initiatives and activities as well as prepare for the WEF - Mekong Conference in Vietnam later in June.

Later on the Deputy Prime Minister also met with the Asian Development Bank’s vice chairman Stefan Groff. They agreed to accelerate cooperation in infrastructure projects, combating climate change, economic restructuring and poverty reduction. They also discussed preparation for the 6th Greater Mekong Sub region Summit in Vietnam in late 2017.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung also visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia. He highly appreciated the Embassy’s role in boosting diplomatic relations between the two countries and protecting Vietnamese nationals here. Also during the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister met with some representatives of the Vietnam community in the country. He affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always makes an effort to create the best conditions for expatriates in Malaysia.
