At the meeting, NITI Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar stated that as a national policy-making agency, NITI has worked and shared experience with many policy-making agencies around the world.
He expressed his wish to soon establish cooperation with a similar agency of Vietnam and proposed specific areas for cooperation such as green industries, renewable energy, digital transformation, high-tech agriculture, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and so on.
For his part, the Deputy PM Khai spoke highly of NITI’s contributions to India’s achievements in recent years, especially the success in COVID-19 containment, vaccine manufacturing, and appropriate fiscal and monetary policies.
The Vietnamese official said he agreed to the NITI’s proposal and asked the institute to establish a cooperation mechanism with Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment in order to share experience in the areas of India’s strengths.
