The RoK now takes the top spot among countries and territories investing in Vietnam, and the Vietnamese community in the RoK and the RoK community in Vietnam are making important contributions to each nation’s socio-economic development, Dung told his guest.
He highly rated Lotte’s business operations in Vietnam with the first presence in 1996, saying that the group has helped bolster the export of Vietnamese farm produce to the RoK and other countries.
The Vietnamese Deputy PM also hailed Lotte’s active participation in social welfare programmes, thus showing its social responsibility.
Vietnam is incentivizing enterprises to expand investment in new areas, especially in transport infrastructure, energy and urban development, he added.
Lee, for his part, thanked the Deputy PM and the Vietnamese Government for supporting Lotte’s projects over the past years as a contribution to Vietnam’s growth.
He said Lotte is pooling resources to engage in several smart urban development projects in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, and will call on Korean businesses to invest in Vietnam and support start-ups in the country.
