On August 28, the Deputy PM visited and encouraged volunteers from religions who were working and performing their missions at COVID-19 treatment medical facilities in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Nguyen Thanh Vinh, the director of Field Hospital No.10 in Thu Duc City, the support from nearly 50 Catholic nuns and Buddhist monks has contributed to the treatment and psychological stabilisation of patients at the hospital.
On the same day, the Deputy PM visited the charity kitchen at Luong The Vinh Primary School in Binh Tho Ward, Thu Duc City.
Since its launch in July 2021, the kitchen provided patients in field hospitals, anti-epidemic forces, people and students who are living in difficulties with 4,000 – 6,000 free meals per day.

* Also yesterday, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long inspected the collection and treatment of COVID-19 patients at the COVID-19 Intensive Care Centre under Hue Central Hospital and the operation of Field Hospital No.14 in Ho Chi Minh City.
On the afternoon of August 28, Deputy PM and members of the Government's Special Task Force worked with leaders of Ho Chi Minh City to discuss the addition of 25,000 technology shippers and employees of distribution systems in the city.
* The World Health Organisation in Vietnam has donated medical equipment worth over US$413,000 to the country, including 36,000 surgical masks, 70,000 high-filtration respiratory masks and 50 sets of high-flow nasal oxygen systems. They will be transferred to Ho Chi Minh City to serve in the urgent anti-epidemic campaigns in southern provinces.
The Ministry of Health (MoH) has just sent an urgent document to localities and medical facilities to continue directing the organisation of vaccination for people aged 18 and over and foreigners living and working in Vietnam.
Accordingly, frontline medical forces, the elderly and cases with underlying medical conditions will be prioritised under the Government’s Resolution No.21/NQ-CP.
The MoH has also decided on the allocation of over 1.7 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to 62 provinces and cities and relevant agencies. These were the 23rd and 24th allocations of the vaccines imported by VNVC Company and those sponsored by the Polish Government.

* On August 28, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent a letter to Nguyen Thi Tuyet Lan, the wife of Vu Quoc Cuong – who actively conducted charity activities in Ho Chi Minh City but passed away due to SARS-CoV-2 virus.
The President compared Cuong's noble charity activities as lotus flowers that will remind and inspire more compassionate hearts, noble examples and sacrifices for the community and society.
President Phuc expressed his hope that Cuong’s wife, children and family will be as strong as Vu Quoc Cuong was in his lifestyle, faith and spirit.

* On August 28, a delegation of 80 doctors, nurses and researchers from the Central Lung Hospital set out to support Dong Nai Province in controlling the epidemic.
They will contribute to treating and caring severe patients in COVID-19 Intensive Care Centre under the Central Lung Hospital at Thong Nhat General Hospital.
* A special working group of Ministry of Construction, led by Deputy Minister Le Quang Hung, inspected the epidemic prevention and control in several southern localities from August 26-28.
The working group focused on inspection of urban technical infrastructure facilities; the construction of field hospital and works serving COVID-19 prevention and control; and the epidemic prevention relating to a number of works.
