Deputy PM asks for measures to control bad debts

Deputy Prime Minister Vương Đình Huệ praised the State Bank’s achievements over the past 5 years, including macroeconomic stability and interest rate management. However, he also requested that the State Bank concentrate on eliminating bad debts and restructuring the banking system. Also the same day, Deputy PM Huệ held talks with IMF delegation head John Nelmes. He welcomed the IMF’s comments on Vietnam’s economic reforms.
