Due to the disease's spread, most of Hanoi's leading hospitals are overloaded. The most recent statistics showed that Hanoi ranks second in terms of dengue fever cases with 13.000 cases, including five deaths.
Around 2.000 new dengue patients are recorded every week. Cases have been reported in the districts of Dong Da, Hoang Mai, Hai Ba Trung, Thanh Xuan, Ha Dong and Thanh Tri.
Ho Chi Minh City has raised warnings over the developing dengue fever wave in Vietnam, worsened by hot weather.
Along with the focus on the management of the dengue virus with GIS software to detect specific points of the epidemic, and the exact number of patients with the disease to devise a suitable method to actively stamp out the epidemic, the city is also considering raising the level of warnings to raise public awareness and improve precautions.
Ho Chi Minh City has also adopted specific messages based on each locality to increase the effectiveness of epidemic prevention.
