The hospital accommodates 1,200 beds, 400 more than the initial plan, with total investment capital of nearly VND1.1 trillion (US$47.3 million) sourced from Government bonds.
This is the largest and most modern hospital in the Central Highlands at present with 38 departments, which have been equipped with many advanced medical checkup and treatment facilities.
In preparation for the hospital’s operations, over the last five years, the Dak Lak provincial Health Department has sent a team of doctors for further training to improve their capabilities.
The hospital has been implementing 50 highly technical services in 13 specialist departments. Meanwhile, the province is currently investing more than VND100 billion (US$4.3 million) to purchase modern equipment in service of the medical examination and treatment demand of the people in the Central Highlands provinces and those from Laos and Cambodia.

Nguyen Dai Phong, director of the hospital, said that the hospital will pay attention to developing specialist departments of interventional cardiology, open-heart surgery, oncology, kidney & urology, aiming to provide timely treatment for patients instead of having to take them to Ho Chi Minh City.
The inauguration of the general hospital for the Central Highlands region offers a chance for the people in Dak Lak in particular, and those in the Central Highlands as a whole, to enjoy the applications of modern medical techniques right in their localities, while working to reduce the state of referral, save travelling, accommodation and treatment costs for patients, and reduce overload for hospitals at the central level.
