Da Nang temporarily stops receiving tourists from coronavirus-infected regions

VTV.vn - The Da Nang City Tourist Department has issued a document asking local travel firms to temporarily stop receiving Chinese customers to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus (nCoV), announced the department’s Director Hong Hanh on Jan 28

The travel agencies have also been ordered not to take Vietnamese tourists to coronavirus-infected regions areas or bring people from those areas to the city.

As of 8 AM, January 28, 37 cases of suspected nCov have been reported in the city, including 17 foreigners and 20 Vietnamese people, who are under medical supervision at the Da Nang City hospital.

Regarding the situation of the patients, Ngo Kim Yen, director of the municipal Department of Health, announced that the mentioned-above people were not infected with the nCoV, affirming that no coronavirus cases have been reported in the city so far.

Within the efforts to control the virus, the city has implemented health declarations with regards to passengers, sailors and crew members entering the Da Nang Port from China.

Chairman of Da Nang City People’s Committee, Huynh Duc Tho has sent a letter to central and local press agencies, calling on them to working closely with local authorities in updating the residents and local functional agencies with fast and accurate information on the situation and preventive measures.
