In her opening speech, Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Deputy Director of Da Nang city’s Tourism Department, said that the annual event aims to bring fresh and interesting experience to local residents and visitors, thus contributing to boosting local tourism.
She also took the occasion to call on tourists to join hands in protecting Da Nang’s sea environment by “Saying No to Plastic Waste” during their stay in the city.
Running until June 19, the programme includes a range of entertainment, cultural, and sporting events and community activities which spotlight the city’s culture, tourism potential and excellent cuisine.
Booths displaying the city’s signature souvenirs and delicious dishes will be set up during the event, together with folk singing and dances every evening.
Visitors to the event are also invited to join a kite festival, a display of products made from recycled plastic bottles, and various team building activities.
