Cu Chi hailed for effective COVID-19 prevention and control

VTV.vn - Cu Chi district in Ho Chi Minh City has achieved positive results in COVID-19 prevention and control, as stated by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

On July 24, Dam, who is also Head of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, inspected Cu Chi regarding its response to the pandemic.

Dam hailed the district for maintaining safe areas, while gradually reducing “red areas”. Care for the lives of locals who have been affected by the epidemic has been well implemented.

He also urged Cu Chi to boost its testing capacity and convert part of the Cu Chi Regional General Hospital to treat COVID-19 patients.

Asking Ho Chi Minh City to dispatch a mobile testing laboratory vehicle to the district to support the testing and diagnosis of COVID-19 cases, Dam also urged Cu Chi to facilitate vaccination for local workers and people, including those without residential registration in Cu Chi.

At 6pm on July 24, after 12 hours of implementing a strict 15-day social distancing order in Hanoi, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Chu Ngoc Anh chaired an online briefing session with local authorities regarding COVID-19 prevention and control.

Anh assessed that the social distancing measures have been seriously implemented across the capital city, urging local authorities to deploy forces to remind local residents on strictly observing social distancing rules.

The Hanoi Department of Transport has requested a cessation in the transporting of passengers and goods by motorbikes, including vehicles operating under car-hailing apps, until further notice.

On the morning of July 25, statistics from the Hanoi Department of Health showed that the capital city recorded 10 more positive cases for SARS-CoV-2 across six outbreaks.

Across the nation, 3,979 cases of COVID-19 were recorded this morning, raising the national tally to 94,913, with 92,735 cases detected in the community.

According to the Health Ministry, a total of 17,583 patients have recovered, while 130 patients are being cared for in ICU, with 17 in critical condition and being treated with ECMO.

The total number of people who have received the first shot of COVID-19 vaccine rose to 4,163,388, while 372,353 others have received the full two shots.
