These are the illustrations for Long Thần Tướng, or the Legend of the Dragon General, a popular Vietnamese historical comic. However, it took more than a decade for the story to be as well-known as it is today.
Artist Nguyen Thanh Phong, Co-founder, Comicola JSC. said: I used to publish my story chapter by chapter in a comic magazine. However, after 18 chapters, the magazine was discontinued and Long Thần Tướng had to stop. We were very sad.
Realising the dream of getting this story out to readers would have been impossible had the authors of Long Thần Tướng not found a new direction: crowdfunding.

To date, more than US$40,000 has been raised from the community, and the third chapter of Long Thần Tướng has been published without investment from any publishers, bookstores, or sponsors. From the success of Long Thần Tướng, more and more people are looking to crowdfund as a way to realise their dreams, by connecting their creative ideas to a community that shares the same interest and faith in their success.
